Time 3 - 2025

Testing

Context: Developing a backpack for children and early adopters of 3D printing.

TPU and Other Materials:

Mixing materials has been part of the challenge, especially when printing a filament layer over a PVC mesh without damaging the nozzle. Controlling heights and speeds, and adjusting them each time a new piece is printed to assemble a modular design, has been key. Using the 3D printer in a different way has been the main topic of this stage.
The idea of combining mesh fabric arose as a way to add value to a material that is technically waste. In Chile, this mesh is literally discarded by retail companies. Puro Viento collects it and transforms it into new products.
On the other hand, printing a product entirely in 3D has been the second experiment. The purpose of that prototype is to eliminate sewing and integrate a simple interface, such as lights controlled from a mobile phone.

Solution: Create a 100% digital production line and products.

Digital tools used: Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, 3D Print, Photoshop, Midjourney, Vizcom.

Status: Prototyping.

Time 2 - 2024

Welcome AI, The new Inspiration

Context: Work online to create commercial bridges in the future. That is the 2024 goal, that is, developing online work skills.

IA and Design:

2024 Puro Viento was awarded $100,000 dollars by the government of Chile in the line of research and product validation. Chile is a country that rewards minds that seek to innovate and contribute to the local industry and whose ambition is to export at some point. Therefore expectations are high.
Today I find myself living in Canada, Victoria BC. And the challenge of creating a line of work online is challenging. Thinking about exporting is a self-demand that has made us involve artificial intelligence as an extra when adding value to the product, in addition to, by the way, starting to develop alternative printing techniques when it comes to working with textiles.
Today the project is in the testing stage, and I have relied on tools such as Midjourney in the generation of alternatives that align with the end user and with manufacturing processes available in Chile.

Solution: Create a 100% digital production line and products.

Genesis

Context: Puro Viento is a Chilean company dedicated to the reuse of materials, with the purpose of adding value through product design.

Problem: Puro Viento is a company dedicated to the remanufacturing of waste that develops Bags in Patagonia, Chile. They are a company that has been in the market for 13 years and that after the pandemic decided to take a step in testing new alternatives in manufacturing. In 2021 I began to develop parts and pieces with low-end 3D printing. The purpose of this is that through design it is possible to transform the company's production process. In such a way that in the near future the company can have a digital production line, that is, many printers producing parts and pieces.

Solution: Create a 100% digital production line and products.

Digital tools used: Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, 3D Print, Photoshop, Keyshot.

Status: Project started in 2021, with a projection for 2024, 2025.
